The Galaxy S Androphone is here

Samsung have released their latest Android smartphone, The Galaxy S GT-I9000, which runs in Android 2.1. This Samsung androphone has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display running at WVGA 800 x 480 resolution which increased the clarity and brightness of their flagship device.

The "Super" part about it makes the screen thinner, so if you hold the Galaxy S on its side, you'll be amazed at how slim it is. The screen delivers unparalleled display quality, with less reflection, free viewing angles and super-fast touch-response.

Samsung has its TouchWiz which is now up to version 3.0, together with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera and a 1GHz processor. The company’s own custom UI and ‘Social Hub’ provides always-on social networks connectivity allowing users to enjoy communications with their friends, colleagues, and families whenever they want and wherever they are.

The Galaxy S has 14GB of usable memory (2GB is used up by the system and a lot of the preloaded crap I had mentioned) and no microSD card. 14GB is great, but not for your media collection.

Other Key Features:

• Daily Briefing: Offers instant access to weather, news, stocks, and the scheduler.
• All Share: Enables inter-device connectivity via DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) technology.
• Home Cradle: Enables use as a digital photo frame, table clock, calendar, and music station.
• Write and go: Jot down an idea first and later decide on a format such as SMS/ MMS, email, calendar or memo.
• Swype: Provides fast and easy way to input text on screen while on-the-move.
• ThinkFree: Apps to view and edit Microsoft Office 2007 documents.
• Smart Alarm: Wakes up with a natural alarm sound and automatically turned-on display light.

“The Galaxy S is the perfect device for people in all corners of the world who want that extra edge; to be more effective, productive, better connected, and in tune with their smart life – both personal and professional – all in a very easy and simple way” said JK Shin, president and head of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications Business.

Maximize your finances

Many people get into problems with debt or overspending, some partly or do not fully understand where their money is going. Budgeting is one aspect which can help you turn your finances around. Working on your budget should not mean endless thrift and sorrow, but rather choosing what you spend your money on and making sure you have money free for the things you really want.
Other important aspects that we should take into consideration...

BELIEVE. Start with the thought that you deserve to be financially abundant. Your current financial situation is the result of your past beliefs on financial sufficiency. The ability to change your beliefs is the great equalizer. As they say, we become what we believe in.

DETERMINE HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TO EARN TO SUSTAIN YOUR LIFESTYLE. Assess your current sources of income. Will it be able to provide for what you want? If not, assess your resources. How much time you can devote looking for additional sources of income? What are your skills and how can you maximize them? Do you need to add more skills? Would you like to look for other opportunities that can make better use of these resources, on top, or aside from, your current sources of income?

SEEK ADVICE FROM FINANCIAL PLANNER. A financial planner will be able to project expenses with inflation in mind, determine income required to support expenses, determine how much savings you need depending on your income timetable, and recommend appropriate financial tools.

Franchising Tips

A Franchise is a privilege granted to an individual to make or market a good or service under a patented process or trademarked name. It is a conferred right to exist as a legal business entity within a particular jurisdiction and to exercise corporate powers.

A Franchisee is the one who purchases a franchise. He or she then runs that location of the purchased business. He or she is responsible for certain decisions, but many other decisions (such as the look, name, and products) are already determined by the franchisor and must be kept the same by the franchisee. The franchisee will pay the franchisor under the terms of the agreement, usually either a flat fee or a percentage of the revenues or profits, from the sales transacted at that location.

Franchisor is the company that allows an individual (known as the franchisee) to run a location of their business. The franchisor owns the overarching company, trademarks, and products, but gives the right to the franchisee to run the franchise location, in return for an agreed-upon fee.

Franchising Tips:
  • Validate the franchisor's claims through the Association of Filipino Franchisors,Inc.
  • Interview one or more franchisees, validate the truth or falsehood of the market and financial claims of the franchisor. In many cases, the sincerity of a franchisor is the key to the franchisee's success
  • Find out if the franchisor has any pending legal cases with any of the franchisees, and if so, find out why.
  • Before signing, ask a lawyer to review the franchise agreement. Make sure your legal counsel is satisfied with the agreement, particularly with the termination clause.
  • Be aware that anything not written in agreement, even if promised by the franchisor, may not be fulfilled.
  • Make sure that all your sources for funding are in place.

    P. Noy on Kris’ marital problems

PRESIDENT Noynoy Aquino promised that he will not get in the way in his youngest sister’s marital problems. He said that he could only give advice to Kris and James Yap if they ask him.

“Sabi ng tatay ko, ’di ka gumigitna sa problema kung may problema [ang] mag-asawa. So hanggang ’di ka hahanapan ng payo o abiso, ’di ako maghihimasok,” he said.

The couple earlier had a “big misunderstanding” which developed during the campaign period. Kris said previously on her Twitter account that the issue between them is is still up in the air.

“We went through a difficult time during the campaign — stress and long hours led to a big misunderstanding. I have never lied to all of you until now hindi pa completely napi-fix. That’s why I’ve just chosen to keep quiet since it’s something very private,” Kris tweeted.

And now that its all over according to Kris, she now asked her lawyers to initiate the appropriate proceedings to end her marriage with basketball player James Yap. They all just want the public to respect their privacy and let the legal process take its course.
